A new number every morning

Aomly works this out for you each day. It takes out your bills, savings and debt, then tells you what you can still spend today. Spend less and tomorrow's number goes up; spend more and the rest of the month adjusts.

Making the daily number work

1

Use your pay after tax

Count what actually lands in your account, after tax, social security and anything taken out by your employer.

2

Save first, not last

Put savings in before you work out the daily number, so it's taken out like a bill instead of whatever is left at the end of the month.

3

Count to payday, not month end

If you're paid on the 25th, count the days to the 25th. A daily number that runs to the 31st makes the last week too tight.

4

Leave room for the irregular

Yearly costs like insurance or a phone plan renewal: divide them by 12 and add them to your bills, so they don't break one month.

Questions

How is the daily budget worked out?

Your pay less bills, savings and debt payments, divided by the days until payday. For example ฿30,000 − ฿9,099 bills − ฿3,000 savings − ฿5,129 debt = ฿12,772, over 31 days is ฿412 a day.

What counts as a bill?

Anything that comes out every month whatever you do: rent, phone and internet, insurance, subscriptions and installment payments. Food and travel aren't bills; they're what the daily budget is for.

What if I spend less than my daily budget?

The money you didn't spend is still there. Spread over the days left, it makes each one a little bigger. Aomly does this for you: unspent days add to the rest of the month.

Is it free? Is anything saved?

It's free, with no account to make. The numbers stay on this page and aren't sent anywhere.
